Elton McManus and company provide a delightful alternative to the voices in my head.

Topics extremely varied and funny. So even if the subject of the cast isn’t something I’m into: I’ll still listen and usually end up giggling at it. Mixlr live recording sessions are great. Cause you get to listen live and join in on the chat room (or phone in): and then you get to download the cast a few days later and listen all over again!
Great cast, would listen again 5*

I love the eclectic range of topics covered and being able to participate on the mixer is oh so much fun, could also be renamed ‘Educating Elton’ but his earnestness is a share delight to listen too, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed
its great, mate

Splendid chat about a multitude of subjects. Funny, casual, and dare I say occasionally informative.
Elton is a pro!

Elton knows how to run a podcast. I was recently a guest on his show, and I had a blast. His sound quality is great, he keeps things moving, and he lets his guests speak. He is easy to talk to, and that comes through in his show. I started listening not that long ago, and I have to say that I loved the discussion about arcade games. SO MANY MEMORIES. I felt like I was in the room with these guys, and Ioved hearing them recall some of my old favorites. It’s reaaaaalllll BRITISH – and that’s a good thing. -Dean (LSG Media)

They talk about stuff, random topics from episode to episode, Dinosaurs, Pencil Cases, Roller coasters etc… What more do you want from a podcast, it’s good, it’s funny.
Shonky Lab Forever
in iTunes by Phil version 1 from UK on October 29, 2014
The Shonky lab is an informative, thought provoking and downright funniest podcast I’ve ever heard. Ever since I discovered it just over a year ago, I’ve enjoyed listening and feeding back to the cast on a regular basis. My train journeys feel empty without Pete and Elton and where-as I listen to a lot of casts, the Shonky Lab was the one that introduced me to the mad world of podcasting. Can’t recommend this enough, the best free podcast in the world, probably.

This podcast covers such varied subjects as biscuits, DIY disasters, the x-files and time travel. Whatever the subject you’re in for a laugh as these guys can make anything amusing, and things that were already funny pant-wettingly hilarious.

Entertaining, fun and informative podcast where two mates (sometimes with invited guests) discuss various topics (movies, games, everyday life, music) in a relaxing atmosphere. Can be used as pastime, cure depression and sometimes even as training in English culture such as what biscuit you eat there or how to use the various tools in the house without injury.

Enjoying this podcast, came across it after listening to the Primer episode that was tacked onto the end of some other shonky podcast. It’s a bit like having a conversation with two old friends, but hiding in a cupboard and not saying anything. Seriously though is a good listen (taking a while to catch up from the start) Keep up the good work Elton and Pete

If you want to listen to a lift engineer and another bloke who doesn’t seem to do any work talk about all kinds of random things, and have the odd laugh thrown in, then have a listen! Seriously though, Shonky Lab is a great podcast, Pete and Elton are brilliant hosts and the show always raises a laugh. Good stuff, albeit a bit Shonky 🙂

As a silly American, I don’t know what “Shonky” means. Seems like it doesn’t mean “great fun” … but it could.

The Best Around..

..and nothins evuh gonna keep you down, when you listen to the best podcast on iTunes. Quirky, witty and sardonic. The back and forth interplay between the cohosts is nothing short of, well bloody brilliant. You will laugh, you will cry (when it ends) and you will recommend it to your friends. Get hip. Get cool. Get Shonky-fied!!
Excellent geeky talk

This show rocketed to the top of my listen list. A great mix of subjects and fantastic chemistry between its hosts, I never fail to laugh out loud when listening. If you are 30 something the nostalgia trips are brilliant, you end up shouting ‘I used to have one of those!’ etc Great show, can’t recommend highly enough.
Have a Shonky Day

Intelligent, witty, and sometimes manic… Pete and Elton will take you on a ride that covers pop culture, film, TV, childhood memories and other forms of miscellaneous miscelellanea. It can be random at times, but it is entertaining ALWAYS. Give it a listen.

Shonky by name, not by nature

Pete and Elton are great hosts. The subject matter is varied and interesting. I often get odd looks because these guys make me laugh so much. They brighten my dull life and get me to work with a smile on my face. So if your having a crappy day, listen to the Shonky Lab technicians and get smiling.

If the answer is yes then show them both how much you care and listen to the “Shonky Lab”. Always interesting and funny, the show’s title is certainly no reflection on the entertainmenting chat from hosts Pete and Elton. So come on, people, you know it makes sense!

A lab of mystery and wonder…
in iTunes by CartoonBeardy from UK on April 24, 2012
Lets start this review off by saying that the title totally mis-sells the show because it is anything but shonky. The eclectic mix of topics from Watchmen to Biscuits keeps the show fresh and the enjoyable banter between the two hosts, Pete and Elton is a delight to listen to. The show has a strong amiable feel to it and I defy anyone not to enjoy these two friends pondering and meandering over such a wide range of subjects, often with hilarious trains of thought. If you like podcasts which are as much about the hosts and their banter, as it is about the subject at hand, I cannot recommend Shonky Lab enough. Every episode is great fun to listen to and an essential subscription in my opinion.

Listening to the cheeky chaps in the Shonky Lab is more fun than tweaking an elephant’s nipple while eating sushi off Joan Collins’ tummy. (Young Joan Collins, not the older one – that’d be weird)
